An Independent Apartment Community

All aspects of Willow Commons have been thoughtfully designed. The name itself reflects the gorgeous Willow trees on the property that are known for their resilience and adaptability.

The supportive community we have designed is called Willow Commons. We chose ‘Willow’ because of the willows on the property and that they are known for their resilience and adaptability and ‘Commons’ for the shared spaces.

Willow Commons will be a supportive community consisting of 11 residential units. Six will be one bedroom, one bath units and five units will have two bedrooms and two bathrooms. There is the potential for two of the units to house support staff to assist the goal of attracting and maintaining support staff to deliver high quality programming. The units are large enough for residents to have a space that is all their own, but not so large that they would prefer spending all their time there rather than interacting with others in the community.

With the intention of encouraging community amoung the residents the design includes a communal kitchen and dining area for shared meals, a multi-purpose space for classes like yoga and art, various informal gathering spaces and a vocational training area, called Common Grounds where residents will have the opportunity to interact with the broader community as they serve specialty coffee drinks.
