Resident Profile

The Willow Commons Independent Apartment Community is intended for adults with intellectual or developmental delays and autism who qualify for California Regional Center services and choose to live independently, with support services, in an intentional community. Residents will live in a one or two bedroom apartment. All residents must have the capability to initiate communication with the support staff on the Willow Commons site if there is an issue with apartment maintenance, individual health, or implementation of daily activities.

While communal meals in the shared kitchen/dining area will be encouraged, each resident should have the capability to prepare simple meals in their unit. They are also expected to be responsible for basic personal hygiene, typical household chores within their unit and management of their daily schedule.

Residents should be interested in being actively involved in the community through work, school, internships, and volunteer activities.  Residents are expected to be engaged in ongoing education and leisure programs offered on site.  Willow Commons is not an appropriate residence for individuals with  psychiatric or emotional diagnosis which result in unsafe behaviors for the individual or the community. Neither is it appropriate for individuals with serious medical limitations.
